It is a fun and interactive game that introduces your kid to the world of mathematics. We already test this app with many kids and it is sure that they love it. Cute, colorful, and easy to use of its design and concept, it is also not too hard to start in Math for little kids. You will be surprised that kids love to learn Maths naturally. Smartypants assessments – Sort of smarty pants lite

Who's a Smarty Pants?

Smartypants assessments  – This is sort of Lite version of Smarty Pants to eval Kids skill level. When I reviewed this app first time, we thought the eval is the best part of the app. So, they forked out the best part and released as a FREE app.

You may also be interested in  Smarty Pants. Please take a look.

Notes from Developer

How do your child’s reading skills compare to those of other children their age?

Have your child take our Smarty Pants Assessment and find out.

The Smarty Pants Assessment test will evaluate your child’s proficiency in five skill areas that students are typically expected to master between preschool and 2nd grade:

1. letter knowledge
2. phonemic awareness
3. phonics
4. simple ‘phonetic’ words
5. and irregular ‘sight’ words.

In less than 10 minutes, we’ll show you exactly where your child excels relative to standard grade-level expectations and where they might benefit from some extra attention.

We’ll even calculate your child’s percentile rank relative to thousands of other children who have taken the same Smarty Pants Assessment test.

And don’t worry. No matter how your child does, our gang of cheering kids will make your child feel like a budding Smarty Pants ☺

As you can see some of the apps cover more than one Goal/Skill. Make sure you pick the one that covers more than one skill. We will be publishing Goals by App (What goals each app covers) to give you help you determine which apps to buy. Almost 50% of the apps listed are FREE so there is no need to think, just download them to your computer and sync to your device when you need them. Don’t under estimate these FREE apps. Some of them are as good as their paid counterparts.

Phonics Monster 1 Single Letter – Another very good interactive book for phonics

Phonics Monster 1 Single LettersPhonics Monster 1 Single Letters – Another app from the developers of Reading Monster. This is a 92 page interactive book to teach phonics with beautiful, clear pictures. It teaches letters, letter sounds, handwriting/tracking, beginning letters and some fun interactive games such as hidden pictures.  Well worth it even if it isn’t free.   See screenshots below to get the feel of the applications.
Important notes:

1. The help section is in foriegn Language so the navigation is tough as we don’t know ho

2. The app crashes if you use the navigation at the bottom.

Bottom line: Even with these major issues, I think it is worth downloading as the developer is going to fix the bugs and write the instructions in English. If he doesn’t we can ask one of our FB fans to translate it for us :-) .  I would pay for it if the developer fixes the bugs as I am so much interested in to this for my own kid.

Reading Monster 1 My Family and I, Growing Up – Best interactive book for comprehension (FREE)

Reading Monster 1

Reading Monster 1 My Family and I, Growing Up –

This is one of the best books to teach comprehension that I have seen.  Very nicely done. It is 74 pages long and it covers a lot of ground.  I wish I can print it and use it.   It is not too complicated so early learners can use this book with no problem.  It has so many features to explore. I haven’t even explored all but so far it has pen to write/mark, pop-up menu to select the answers and a keyboard to type the answers.

Important notes:

1. The help section is in foriegn Language so the navigation is tough as we don’t know ho

2. The app crashes if you use the navigation at the bottom.

Bottomline: Even with these major issues, I think it is worth downloading as the developer is going to fix the bugs and write the instructions in English.
